We give new equivalent characterizations for ideals of Borel type. Also, we prove that the regularity of a product of ideals of Borel type is bounded by the sum of the regularities of those ideals.

Proposition 1.1
(1) If $I,J\subset S$ are two ideals of Borel type then $I+J$, $I\cap J$ and $I\cdot J$ are also ideals of Borel type. (2) If $I\subset S$ is an ideal of Borel type and $J\subset S$ is an arbitrary monomial ideal, then $(I:J)$ is an ideal of Borel type.
