T-duality of the Green-Schwarz superstring
Bogdan Kulik, Radu Roiban
TL;DR
This work derives T-duality for the Green-Schwarz superstring to all orders in superspace, establishing Buscher-like transformations for the supervielbein and NS-NS two-form and providing the dual action for the dilaton, gravitini, and RR superfields. By combining Siegel symmetry, covariance, and the full set of type II supergravity constraints, the authors map IIA to IIB backgrounds in curved space and fix remaining ambiguities through Bianchi identities. The result is a consistent, all-orders formulation of T-duality at the level of massless Type II fields, including precise transformations of RR sector fields and fermions. The framework highlights the chiral structure of IIA/IIB under T-duality and suggests extensions to general isometries via Killing vectors, with implications for broader duality networks.
Abstract
We study T-duality in the Green-Schwarz formalism to all orders in superspace coordinates. We find two analogs of Buscher rules for the supervielbein and clarify their meaning from the superstring point of view. The transformation rules for the dilaton, spin 1/2 fermions and Ramond-Ramond superfields are also derived.
