On initial conditions and global existence for accelerating cosmologies from string theory
Makoto Narita
TL;DR
The paper addresses constructing solutions that satisfy prescribed initial conditions for accelerating cosmologies inspired by string/M-theory. The authors study Gowdy-symmetric spacetimes with a positive potential ($V>0$) and explicitly construct a solution that realizes the given initial data. They also prove a global existence theorem for these spacetimes, establishing well-posedness and long-time evolution. The results provide a rigorous mathematical foundation for accelerating cosmologies in string/M-theory and have implications for the viability of such models under a positive potential.
Abstract
We construct a solution satisfying initial conditions for accelerating cosmologies from string/M-theory. Gowdy symmetric spacetimes with a positive potential are considered. Also, a global existence theorem for the spacetimes is shown.
